Privacy Policy

Effective date: 9 June 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Journeywise ("Journeywise", "we", "us", or "our") handles information in connection with the Journeywise mobile application (the "App") and the website at journeywise.digitaappworld.uk (the "Site", together the "Services"). We have designed Journeywise to be private by default: the App is offline-first and stores your travel information on your device, not on our servers.

By using the Services, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Policy.

1. Summary

  • We do not require an account and do not operate servers that store your trips, itineraries, expenses, or notes.
  • Your content is stored locally on your device and is under your control.
  • We do not sell your personal information and do not use advertising or analytics trackers in the App.
  • Limited information is processed by trusted providers to deliver subscriptions, host the Site, and answer your messages, as described below.

2. Information stored on your device (not collected by us)

The App stores the content you create — including trips, destinations, dates, budgets, currencies, itinerary events, expenses, notes, and personalization settings — in local storage on your device. This information is not transmitted to us, and we have no ability to access, read, or recover it. If you delete the App, this local data is removed from your device.

3. Information processed by our service providers

(a) Subscriptions and purchases

Premium subscriptions are sold and processed by Apple through the App Store. We never receive or store your payment card details. To determine whether a subscription is active, we use RevenueCat, Inc., which processes a randomly generated, anonymous app user identifier and a non-identifying purchase receipt/token. This does not include your name, email address, or any travel content.

(b) Website hosting and security

The Site is hosted on Cloudflare. Cloudflare may process technical connection data — such as IP address, browser/user-agent, and request metadata — in server logs for security, fraud prevention, and performance purposes.

(c) Contact form

If you contact us through the Site's form, the information you submit (your name, email address, and message) is transmitted via our form provider, Web3Forms, and delivered to our support inbox so that we can respond to you.

(d) Notifications

If you enable reminders, notifications are scheduled and delivered locally on your device by iOS. We do not operate a push-notification server and cannot see your reminders.

4. How we use information

We use the limited information described above to: provide and maintain the Services; verify and manage subscription entitlements; respond to your support requests; detect, prevent, and address security incidents, fraud, or abuse; and comply with applicable legal obligations.

5. Legal bases for processing (EEA/UK users)

Where the UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases: performance of a contract (to provide subscriptions and respond to your requests); legitimate interests (to keep the Services secure and functioning); and consent where required (for example, where you choose to contact us). You may withdraw consent at any time.

6. Sharing and sub-processors

We do not sell your personal information. We share limited information only with the service providers that help us operate the Services, each acting under their own privacy commitments:

  • Apple — App distribution and subscription billing.
  • RevenueCat — subscription entitlement management.
  • Cloudflare — website hosting and security.
  • Web3Forms — contact-form message delivery.

We may also disclose information where required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Journeywise, our users, or others.

7. International transfers

Our service providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where such transfers occur, the relevant providers implement appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) consistent with applicable data-protection law.

8. Data retention

Content you create in the App remains on your device until you delete it or remove the App. Messages you send us are retained only as long as needed to handle your inquiry and any related follow-up. Our providers retain technical logs in accordance with their own retention policies.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal information, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. Residents of California (under the CCPA/CPRA) may request to know or delete personal information and to opt out of its "sale" — note that we do not sell personal information. Because most of your data is stored only on your device, you can already access, export, or delete it directly within the App. To exercise any other right, contact us using the details below; we will respond as required by applicable law.

10. Children's privacy

The Services are not directed to children under 13 (or the higher minimum age required in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will take appropriate action.

11. Security

Your App content resides on your device and benefits from your device's own protections. The Site is served over HTTPS. While we and our providers take reasonable measures to protect information, no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. Third-party links

The Services may link to third-party websites or services (such as the Apple App Store). We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those third parties, and we encourage you to review their policies.

13. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Effective date" above and post the updated version on this page. Material changes will take effect when posted.

14. Contact us

If you have questions or requests regarding this Policy or your information, contact us at support@digitaappworld.uk or via our contact form.
